Field Trips
Field trips are organized for hotel guests several times each week, accompanied by a spa guide, to locales in the vicinity:
Devil's Town:
The Devil's Town locale is 27 km away. It is protected by the state as a Category I Nature Monument and is the sole representative of Serbia in the selection for the "7 Natural Wonders of the World".
Lazarica Church in the Prolom Spa:
It is located 2.4 km away from the hotel. Built in 1890, it is the only adobe church in the Toplički region. According to popular accounts, part of the army of Prince Lazar took their rites in this church on the eve of the Battle of Kosovo. The church portal contains six twisted plum tree trunks, a particularly rare occurrence.
Lukovo Spa:
Lukovo Spa is 58 km from the Prolom Spa and is the spa located at the highest altitude in Serbia (681m above sea level). It is known for the large number of mineral water springs with various composition and temperatures. The hotel recreation services organize whole-day field-trips with lunch at the Kopaonik and Jelak hotels.
The Pločnik Neolithic Find:
It is located 28 km from the Prolom Spa. This 7500 year old settlement represents a rich find for artefacts from the Neolithic, when the first copper smelting plants in the Balkans stood there. The locale shows a reconstructed village settlement from the period. The remains of Roman thermae can be seen in the vicinity of the locale.
XII century churches in Kuršumlija:
The first endowments of Stefan Nemanja from the 12th century are located in Kuršumlija, 22 km away: the Church of St. Nicholas and the Church of the Holy Mother. Field trips are organized accompanied by a spa guide, with visits to the early Byzantine basilica and an introduction to the town sights.
